We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and handling your data responsibly. By accessing or using our Platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this Privacy Policy, please discontinue use of our Platform immediately. We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or other factors. We encourage you to review this page regularly. Continued use of our Platform after modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy. This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Use. ### 1. SCOPE AND APPLICATION This Privacy Policy applies to: * Visitors and users of our Platform, including both registered and unregistered users; * Individuals who interact with us through email or customer support channels; * Subscribers to our newsletters or promotional communications, where applicable. Throughout this document, "you" and "your" refer to any individual who interacts with our Platform or services. ### 2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT We collect the following types of information to provide, maintain, and improve our services: #### 2.1 Information You Provide Directly * **Account Information:** When you create an account, we collect information such as your name, email address, and password, along with learning preferences you choose to provide (such as your native language, target language, and level). * **Communication Data:** When you contact us or send feedback, we collect the content of your messages. * **Payment Information:** Subscriptions are processed by **Apple** through the App Store. We do **not** receive or store your payment card details. We receive only your subscription status and related transaction information from Apple. * **Voice Input:** Certain exercises let you practice pronunciation. When you use these features, your microphone audio is processed for speech recognition (which may use Apple's on-device or server-based speech recognition). We do not store your voice recordings for other purposes. #### 2.2 Information Collected Automatically * **Usage Data:** We automatically collect information about how you interact with our Platform, including features accessed, actions taken, learning progress, and session frequency. * **Technical Information:** We collect data about your device and connection, including IP address, device type and operating system, app version, device identifiers, and language preferences. * **Diagnostics Data:** We collect crash reports and performance data to identify and fix problems. * **Performance Data:** We track your learning progress, achievements, and preferences to personalize your experience. #### 2.3 Analytics and Tracking Technologies We use **Google Firebase Analytics** to understand how the Platform is used and **Google Firebase Crashlytics** to detect and diagnose crashes. These tools collect usage and diagnostic data as described above. We do **not** use your data for third-party advertising, and we do **not** track you across other companies' apps or websites for advertising purposes. On our website, we may use cookies and similar technologies that are essential for functionality and for analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may limit website functionality. ### 3. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING We process your personal data only when we have a lawful basis under applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): * **Contractual Necessity (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)):** To provide our services, fulfill our obligations under our Terms of Use, and respond to your requests. * **Legitimate Interests (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)):** To improve our Platform, ensure security, prevent fraud, and conduct analytics, provided these interests do not override your rights and freedoms. * **Consent (GDPR Art. 6(1)(a)):** Where required, we obtain your consent for specific activities, such as marketing communications. * **Legal Obligations (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c)):** To comply with legal requirements such as tax and record-keeping obligations. ### 4. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION We use collected information to: * **Deliver the Service:** Create and manage your account, provide access to learning features, and process your subscription. * **Personalize your experience:** Track progress, recommend content, and adapt lessons to your level and goals. * **Communicate with you:** Send service-related notifications, respond to inquiries, and provide support. * **Improve and develop:** Analyze usage patterns, diagnose issues, test features, and enhance performance. * **Marketing (with your consent):** Send promotional materials or newsletters you may unsubscribe from at any time. * **Security and compliance:** Detect and prevent fraud, enforce our Terms of Use, and comply with legal obligations. We will not use your personal data for purposes incompatible with those disclosed at collection without notifying you and, where necessary, obtaining your consent. ### 5. AGE REQUIREMENTS AND CHILDREN'S PRIVACY Our Platform is intended for users who are at least **13 years old** (or the minimum age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, if higher). * If you are between 13 and the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you should use the Platform only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian. * Our Platform is **not directed to children under 13**, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. * Parents or guardians who believe we may have collected information from a child under 13 should contact us using the details in Section 17. By using the Platform, you confirm that you meet these age requirements and that the information you provide is accurate. ### 6. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data: * **Right of Access** — obtain confirmation of processing and a copy of your data. * **Right to Rectification** — correct inaccurate or incomplete data. * **Right to Erasure** — request deletion of your data in certain circumstances. * **Right to Restrict Processing** — limit how we use your data under specific conditions. * **Right to Data Portability** — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format. * **Right to Object** — object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing. * **Right to Withdraw Consent** — withdraw consent at any time without affecting prior processing. * **Right to Lodge a Complaint** — file a complaint with your local data protection authority. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from within the app, or by contacting us using the details in Section 17. We will respond to legitimate requests within one month; complex requests may require additional time, in which case we will notify you. ### 7. DATA RETENTION AND DELETION We retain your personal data only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. * **Active Accounts:** Retained for the duration of your relationship with us. * **Inactive Accounts:** Retained for a reasonable period, then deleted or anonymized. * **Legal Requirements:** Some data may be retained longer to meet legal, tax, or regulatory obligations. * **Deletion:** When data is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it. ### 8. DATA SECURITY We implement technical, administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your personal data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring. However, no system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential. ### 9. DATA SHARING AND DISCLOSURE We do **not sell** your personal data. We may share information only in these circumstances: * **Service Providers:** Trusted vendors who perform functions on our behalf — including **Apple** (subscriptions), **Google Firebase** (analytics and crash reporting), and hosting providers — with access limited to what is necessary and under confidentiality obligations. * **Business Transfers:** In a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may transfer to the successor entity. * **Legal Requirements:** When required by law, legal process, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. * **With Your Consent:** When you direct us to share your data. * **Aggregated/De-identified Data:** Data that cannot reasonably identify you. ### 10. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS We may process data on servers located in different countries. When transferring data from the EU/EEA to countries without an adequacy decision, we use appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses. By using our Platform, you understand that your data may be transferred and processed in jurisdictions with different data protection standards, subject to the protections in this Policy. ### 11. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES Our Platform may contain links to third-party websites or services we do not operate. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
